Cape Coral, FL – May 5, 2025 | Bootstrap Homeless Ministry is a volunteer-based organization that has been serving meals to a sector of the unhoused community in Cape Coral since 2009. The organization is committed to creating an environment of dignity for the 120+ guests that arrive at their door every
Saturday. Bootstrap volunteers gather at a rented hall where they have established their outreach. Each week they provide their guests groceries, hot meals, clothing, toiletry items, and an opportunity to shower. No judgment, no forms to fill out, no questions asked.
When Expert Home Renovators’ president, John Vincent Gomez-Iglesias, learned the organization’s bathroom was in need of repairs, and that a water heater for the shower was desperately needed, he contacted Judy Healey, Treasurer, and board member of the organization to offer support. Bootstrap is now in the process of securing the necessary permits to start the much-needed upgrades. John believes compassion is contagious. He hopes it spreads and encourages business owners to get involved-to discover the impact it has in their lives, their companies, and their employees. Bootstrap Homeless Ministry volunteers help the unhoused, those who are income deficient, as well as the food insecure. The leadership and volunteers are passionate about the work they do and plan to continue doing it as long as there are people in need.
